GABLES ARTS COLLECTIVE

Gables Arts Collective was created by the Coral Gables Business Improvement District to bring the arts to downtown Coral Gables and South Florida. From fine arts to culinary arts, celebrating creativity and expression through the arts enriches communities in countless ways. It creates dialogue, enhances spaces, provides entertainment, drives economic development, is a reflection of its community and so much more. The City of Coral Gables is turning on the lights.

Illuminate Coral Gables will bring stunning interactive art, video projections, and light sculptures to the streets of Coral Gables. Conceived by Chief Curator Lance M. Fung with Catherine Cathers, Jennifer Easton and Rosie Gordon-Wallace, Illuminate Coral Gables (ICG) has been created for specific outdoor locations throughout Coral Gables. ICG’s eight projects – seven of which are site-specific commissions – include video projections, sculpture, and art installations by a renowned group of local, national, and international artists including Kiki Smith and Cai Gou-Qiang.
